Hi I'm Pru *waves* and I'm a blogger failure

Ugh I went completely absent again.  Part of the reason was because of the insane heatwave that has only ended a couple of days ago.  When I wasn't working or commuting, I was pretty much sitting in front of fan hoping for cooler weather.

The other reason for my absence is that I will be getting a roommate in the middle of September.  That will be a topic for another post.  The circumstances are not ideal but we'll see how it turns out.  In any case, my free time is largely spent getting ready for someone to move into my space.  If anything this experience is making me focus more on my finances and I'll blog about that later too.

Needless to say things here will be sporadic but I will still post.  In terms of investing, I transferred some more funds to Vanguard.  I decided that I will be buying Ford (F) stock.  Ideally I would buy 150 shares so the cash is sitting in my brokerage account while I try to find bits and bobs and to transfer there.  Because of the high dollar amount this will cost me, I will probably not make any investment purchases this month but will purchase Ford stock next month.

I'm also freaking out about my mortgage (again) so looking for any other bits and bobs to help pay it down faster.  I just wrote the check today so once it clears, I will update the blog.

Hope everyone who reads is doing well.

Another transfer made!

Transferred $55 to my G2H savings account as well as $55 to my Rewire savings account.  Feels good to get this done early in the month!

Transfer made!

It is early in the month for me but I already went ahead and made the $210 transfer to my 2nd Home Account.

I also transferred $625 to my brokerage account.  I will definitely invest a portion of that this month (likely next week) but will also hold back about $200.  I plan to buy some more expensive stock later this year and right now I'd rather have the funds sitting at Vanguard than hanging around in my checking account where I can get my grubby hands on it!  :-)

Trying very hard to stay ahead of the game somewhat this month and get back into blogging a bit more often.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Happy Saturday!

All the pages have been updated (finally!).

I saw a tiny snippet in the Wall Street Journal yesterday that MetLife, a very large company, is planning to cut costs by 11% between now and 2019.  Another reason for Pru to start tightening her belt.

I looked at how my investment balances have slowly grown this past year - primarily from me putting the green employees to work.  But also from dividends that were reinvested.  It is nice to see but it does remind me that when it comes to investing you really need to take the long term view.  I can't look at my balances on a daily basis.  The market goes up and down and on those down days seeing all the red is a tad frightening.  Especially when you consider that most people are investing for their retirement.

Slow and steady - well that's all I can be at this point.  I entered the race a bit late but I'll keep dripping in money each month :-)
